Funding. That’s the issue. If we allocate more money we get better foods. It’s simple as that. I listened to a podcast a while back about this. The average cost of a single meal has to be in the area of $1.55 to make. Anything beyond that is outside of the average budget. We operate our public schools on shoestring budgets and expect there to be better options.
