I appreciate this so much. My husband struggled for years with alcoholism, and tried the 12 step program SO many times and it just never worked. He kept telling me that something was off about the program, it seemed so staged to him. Anyway, he’s always known the Lord, but when he finally said that’s enough and gave himself 100% to God, he has overcame his addiction and he’s 2+ years sober. The Lord showed my husband who he was, not who the addiction was telling him he was. About a year before this, I had started praying differently. Instead of saying, ‘God, help him stop drinking,” I prayed, “Lord, let him see who You called him to be.” It still gives me chills to think about how good He is.

7 years sober coming up in November!! I'm thankful where He brought me from, I just don't enjoy talking about it anymore! It will always be a part of who I am and where He brought me from!
