@nicole_eisdorfer: Another new workplace trend “job hugging” is hitting the news. On the surface it looks like loyalty and stability so a lot of leaders are missing the hidden dangers. While low quit rates and steady retention sound like a win when they are accompanied by stalled development and lagging skills it’s a problem for workplaces. #jobhugging #futureofwork #employeeengagement #hrtrends #toxicworkplace
There’s literally nothing gen z can do without being criticized. Stay in a good job? Job hugging. Wont do extra work without fair compensation? Quiet quitting or quiet cracking. Try to grow in your career? Job hopping. Someone need ago chill with these weird buzz words

huhh, crazy. It's almost like people who are drowning in student loan debt and are barely being paid enough to pay rent don't give a damn about growing their own skills to benefit only the company. None of those things will get them more pay, or any of the other benefits you mentioned. The job market is the way it is because of poor, greedy leadership.

It makes high retention rates look like illusions. On the flip side, the percentage of employees checked out are high

“You’re going to buy calm today at the cost of capability tomorrow.” See, I think this is 100% by design. They want to consolidate power, and knowledge is power. If they don’t keep people from learning new skills, those pesky plebeians might use their knowledge to climb the ladder and gain upward mobility, and we can’t have that!

I’m 25 with no college education and was extremely lucky to get a white collar job that pays decent. If I were to lose this job I will not be able to get another white collar job likely for years so whether I like the job or not I gotta stick with it for now because the alternative is hard physical labor for less than $20 an hour
