You should agree with your boss what style of communication and engagement they like. Not all bosses expect the same thing or like the same communication style. Assuming one is the worse thing you can do. Some people will get annoyed with all these updates.

Ugh this is exhausting. Like why do I need to update you that I’m doing my job? Red flags- yes. But that I did what I was suppose to on top of managing clients (as a AM at a marketing agency)- this makes me cringe. 😭

Can’t fix outlook search bar, don’t have AI to do all your excel or PowerPoint work but can give advise that doesn’t apply to 90% of workplaces. Progress updates are for the 1-2-1 meetings, not for spamming your managers inbox. P.s. fix outlook search bar

Most leaders I work with (company size similar to microsoft) do not like a constant stream of updates. It creates fatigue and important messages are lost in the millions of updates. If your boss needs a million updates to evaluate your performance , he/she is not doing a good job in reading people
