Mennonite here - once met with some LDS missionaries in their church hall as wanted to know a bit more about it. They called me about four times a day and came to my house a few times in the weeks afterward lol.

My sister wants to do that whenever someone in our family dies. We were raised Catholic (she was too) I told her she better not do that for me. I'm not a perfect Catholic but I don't want anything to do with that cult. 😡

Didn’t get married in the temple but was sealed. Hubby and I both thought it was the weirdest experience. Needless to say, we eventually left the church.

Don’t worry, after you go enough you’ll become desensitized to the weirdness and cultiness of it all. Just push through the bad and uncomfortable feelings until you are numb to them! That’s the healthy way to deal with the temple!

Same! Once I put the chef boyardee outfit on and started the weird ceremonies I was immediately turned off. My wife and I are still happily married, but we left the church that same year. ✌

In the Bible Fine twine linen was only discribed as being used for Temple adornments or Priestly garments.
In the Book of Mormon Nephi discribes the Pride of the world as wearing fine twine linen. Nephi would have known what he was discribing.
In Lehi's dream, Nephi discribed the great and spacious building, that had no foundation, and the people in it who mocked the faithful Partakers of the Fruit of the tree of Life. As the pride of the world.
In other words they had been to the temple and understood its covenants. And they knew how to mock thise eating the fruit, thats why they turned away ashamed.
In other words You are literally fullfiling Proficy

My two siblings who served missions (and are still active members unlike me and my oldest sibling) mention sometimes how traumatizing their missions actually were and it worries me so much, actually

As soon as my feet hit the celestial room floor I loudly hissed, “I WANT TO GO NOW.” I would have run out sooner but I looked ridiculous and wasn’t 100% sure I could find my regular clothes.

Yes, the ‘it may be weird at first, but you just have to keep going to understand’ was the first big sign!
