I think ppl fail to realize taking care of both ur physical and mental health is the healthiest overall. Maybe you’ll be a few lbs heavier if u go out to eat and enjoy treats, but who cares. When I was very restrictive I was so miserable and not enjoyable to be around. I gained some weight, make sure I eat enough meals and snacks, and let myself have occasional treats and I’m just such a better and happier person now. Plus a lot of my physical health issues and chronic pain have actually improved!!

Did she maybe confuse the word balance with being uncomfortable? Like to grow, you have to be uncomfortable (aka break your comfortability so be unbalanced)? Idk that’s what I’m wondering. But I agree with you, you can always change what “balance” looks like for you through growth

I’ve been told this too and the way that person perceived balance was 50/50 “good” choices and “bad” choices and maybe if that’s how they’re thinking the results would be average. The way you perceive it is more like 80/20 good vs bad choices
