Is there still the requirement for the train to split in the tunnel should say a fire or other emergency occur so the pax can be evacuated from the part of the part of the set in question to a service tunnel or to the unaffected set and that portion driven out of the tunnel as usual? As I seem to remember Justin saying TM’s were competent drivers for tunnel purposes. Is that still the case or is there a driver in both cabs for every revenue service?

Great view, but why was it going through a slalom? I thought it was a straight run into the tunnel at each end for passenger services

Last question, what goes into signing routes for E*? Is it the same as domestic routes ie every signal, speed, crossover, crossing, station, low adhesion areas, neutral sections etc, or is it easier having TVM to tell you speeds and the bit of paper in French you’ve shown on other videos with distances, stations etc on and do you need PTS for Network Rail and the SNCF and SNCB equivalents?

That’s interesting, I always thought the entire tunnel excluding the immediate entrances was underwater.

Also what are the requirements to be a driver/guard for E*, do I need to know French prior to applying or do E* still teach it? What are the benefits of the job? Do you guys get PRIV rate in the UK and free travel on E* like domestic TOC staff do?
