Officer Michael McMaster was fired from the Paulding County Sheriff's Office in February 2023 after a video showed him body slamming a man identified as Taylor, in what was deemed a case of excessive force. A lawsuit was filed against the former deputy for his actions, and a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) investigation into the incident was also conducted.
