Saying that the gender gap in education is just as big or bigger is insane when women have literally been banned for centuries from getting an education. The gap “the other way” has never and will never be as big and to say that is extremely dismissive of the past and current fight for education for women all around the world.

The verbiage in this puts the blame on women once again. “The girls are leaving the boys way behind, and the women leaving the men.” Why not state instead that men are falling behind in a system that was set up by them for them while women are succeeding despite it?

Men are socialized to "not be women". When something becomes 60% women, the tipping-point is reached and men will leave/quit. Men leave female-dominated spaces because societal norms devalue "women's work".

The difference is that no one is stopping boys from getting an education. No one is telling them that they need to stay home and take care of the house. No one is telling them they’re not smart enough. They are CHOOSING not to get an education.

I really hate how this is framed. You see how boys aren’t being HELD back? They’re falling behind. There is not system in place actively barring them from education, no one is discouraging them from pursuing degrees in favor of marriage and children. Completely organically, they’re falling behind. Figure out why that is.

Men aren't falling behind.....they are quitting because they cant deal with the fact patriarchy lied to them to prop them up while pushing women down all while saying its biological & nature. Start conditioning boys with the same way we condition girls & let's see what happens. 🤔
