236micrometer IS 0.236mm and 0.556mm
0.236 IS the average accuracy or deviation of the movement with a max accuracy or deviation of 0.556. I have a X1C and calibratet it to a accuracy of 0.1mm

As close the cnc as you can get makes zero sense. The printer operates on G Codes. That is, CNC - computer numerically controlled.

Should have printed it before the calibration with that plate.

The vision encoder build plate is meant for bigger prints not small ones

Ya there’s like 20 other factors to get down to that level of tolerance that plate only really helps with skew which can be tested and fixed with an hour long print

personally I wouldn't buy one. the results are pretty solid and the price isn't too bad all things considered but I don't own a 3d printer. 👍

the A1 already do 0.15 nicely ... 😅

I wonder if you could get below 15 to work if you use incompatible materials like PCTG and PLA.
at those small distances, even with motion accuracy, The layers could just melt together.
granted using multi-materials isn't always practical for real world print in place applications but I'm more just curious to see if it makes a difference in this particular print

12 minutes?? No way. Mine does it in like 5-6 minutes tops.

You should darken the room because the light Can messe up the calibration

The best idea I’ve seen today was watching you store your plate underneath. 😃

I wonder if using the auto circle hole-contour compensation feature would help. That’s the setting they claim makes super tight tolerances work. Pretty sure it’s only compatible with some Bambu filaments though.

very cool. .15 is pretty tight, lookimg forwwd to next test

Try Prusa filament they have the tightest thickness tolerances and you can actually check the measured thickness over the spool length. Unnecessary 99% of the time haha

That’s in microns and it seems pretty high up there

me here with a creality v2 neo that's a bit modded is also able to go wit 0.2 and even 1.5 when calibrated for that filament

two things though. have you done this test before and what were the results and were you printing at a higher or lower mm/s than advertised. slowing down the print speed can drastically improve results

That plate cannot affect the x and y dimensions or the amount of material the printer extrudes through the nozzle. The only thing you can do with it is achieve a perfect first layer because it checks many more points of z-axis deviation in microns.
