@thebishoptutu: Food is expensive and the holidays are coming. Are people really still planning big meals, gifts, and to-go plates? In this video, I talk about how rising prices are forcing families to rethink Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions. Let’s talk about it. #groceryshopping #inflation #economy #thanksgiving
This is why potluck style is where it’s at, everyone contributes.

I do lasagna or enchiladas and a big charcuterie board for the holidays. My family loves it more than turkey.

I will be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas alone by choice unless my daughter stays in town.. I used to spend hundreds of dollars on food, a house full of people… no more. Did it last year and will be doing it again this year.

I've convinced my older mother several years ago to start gardening and growing fruit trees. I'll be eating from the garden.😋

I’m floating the idea of getting together for dessert and just make thanksgiving for my family because I cannot really afford to provide food for 30-40 people😞

Nope we moved from celebrating holidays to family travel and new adventures on the cheap! We've planned years ahead and the family has time to make payments if they plan on attending, so far 100% participation!

Since my folks are far away and I don’t really want to see them anyways, I’m doing my Thanksgiving for myself. I save money and I don’t have to stress about who likes

Last year I spent $1000 plus on thanksgiving. I will still invite everyone. Collards will be growing in the garden soon. It’ll be harder but will make it. Not sure about next year. Maybe PB and J sandwich’s for everyone.

we aren't huge Thanksgiving meal people and my kids won't eat most of it anyway. the biggest crowd in recent years has been my husband's immediate family and everyone contributes. I started shopping for Christmas last year and pick up one there here or there as I go. everyone else can pound sand as long as my kids are taken care of in terms of Christmas. They aren't picky and could care less if something is 2nd hand as long as it works. I'm very lucky in that sense.

We dont do thanksgiving and my kids know that I'm the Granfather Frost who puts presents under the New Year tree. So they will be happy to get what they get. I guess it also helps that I'm far away fromy family. No one comes over 😂😂😂

We’ve been doing pot luck Thanksgiving & Christmas, everyone brings a dish or two….There are some that can’t afford to bring anything and they’re still welcome but the majority pitch in what they can, it also cuts back on guests when they’re asked to help - those that matter always show up.
