But why should they put him in an admin role if, when they want an admin person, he is not the best person for the job? He was hired for job XYZ. If he can’t. Do it any more why should employer be forced to put him in a role he’s not suited for?

First time I’ve felt a bit bad for the employer. There are very limited administrative roles within a prison setting, and depending on the prison itself even administrative roles would require key holding to some degree as all roles on site will be behind the wire. Issue here is it seems they didn’t even try to see if there were alternatives.

A bit of a joke he could have a job somewhere else rather than a life changing amount of money. Again no concern about cost on the tax payer. It would never happen against a company

He could have easily gone on the gate house or security searches that are on the same rotar. So they should have been forced to re employ and no payout

My ex nurse manager refused to make concessions about night duty (due to my Crohn’s disease). I even gave her a plan how I could manage it. Fortunately I got a desk job but lost pay for about 4 years. I’m now retiring but have always been angry about the end of my nurse career.
