I litterally told my therapist I thought I was manic today and she was like “do you have a history of mania?” And I was like “no, but I made a whole batch of muffins without sitting down” and she laughed and said “I’m so glad you’re feeling good”

Unbridled optimism is what keeps us chronically ill/intractable pain people waking up every morning

Dynamic disabilities are insane. It really is just like this. One good day, only for 10 bad days in a row the next.

Does anyone else have this with debilitating fatigue? It started 2 years ago around my 52nd birthday, waking up feeling tired/to/the-bone, bumping into things because I’m so sickeningly exhausted and dizzy. Then going to work (because i have no choice) and shaking with flu-like symptoms all day, go home shivering and straight to bed. Then I’ll have a good day (say once a month) and go around telling everyone it was all in my head. The medical tests come back negative. I’m considering trying to get approved for ECT just IN CASE it’s depression/anxiety. I’m THAT desperate to get my life back.

I like to be a little delulu and every time I’m in the bathroom I say “I am strong. I am healthy. I am healed.” I go to the bathroom a lot every day. I think its working.

Recently I had like an 8 day stretch of no symptoms and I fully forgot I was disabled and then the symptoms came back and I was like oh no what’s happening… girl the same thing that’s been happening for years 😭

Same. The variable nature of my ME/CFS makes this happen so often. I also think the false hope is the only thing keeping us from walking into traffic...❤️

Me with my medication.. B12, thinking ' Oh I don't want to inject today I'll do it tomorrow.. I feel fine..' biggest regret for 3 weeks long and then I will do it all over again because I am stupid 🙂↕️🥲😂😂

I told myself that for 8 yrs because my doctor said it’s just stress and perimenopause. Until ChatGPT told me it was actually seizures and affecting my autonomic system. Got an EEG and ChatGPT was right. Been on meds and feeling human again.

I have migraine. Nearly every day. I try to do as much as I can on my good days. Then it catches up with me. I completely get it
