How’d the sweet corn do, they taking mine in a day or two, said yields have been about average so far, what you plan on doing with it after you get it leveled? It gotta put tile and cover crop on afterwards

Cool videos of sweet corn harvest. Hard to watch knowing damage but that’s the risk you take with that crop. I don’t know where you farm but you might want to consider spreading something more than just oats after you’re done with your final tillage pass. Maybe some broad leaf plants, tillage radish, turnips ect. They are pretty much nonexistent in the spring and will put some life back into that farm. I did this in 2019 with some prevent plant acres and actually was pretty impressed with the results. I’m sure you don’t wanna spend a lot of money on a cover crop but just think what that land is worth. Hell you could even do it with a drone if it doesn’t dry out for you. I would also be concerned with multiple tillage passes could cause some soil structure issues some extra roots might help that equipment stay on top of the soil next spring. It won’t be magic but i was happy to see in another comment you were going to try to plant something.

Does the premium for raising sweet corn offset what they did for damage to the field? I know every situation is different just curious because of fuel and time to fix it

I can tell you from experience, that will take a few years to make it right again. And I’d be ripping as deep as possible. Lots of compaction out there.

Rip it as deep as possible when taking care of ruts! It will take a few seasons to get that cleaned up and leveled out!

In Oregon I’ve filled in sprayer runs with a Landoll 7431 and after 2nd pass it was smooth. But not sure your conditions that’s just what worked for me

Idle back, gear up a couple so it takes the torgue away from that tractor and it will go 3 times as good … I’ve moved dirt since the early 90s , I promise I’m not leading you astray
