Formerly a 30 resident in Joshua Tree CA and those are coyotes. They hunt in packs known to get small dogs and will fight bigger ones. Honestly I would go home. This would stress my Huskies out we have had to leave trips because of this exact situation. Stay safe

Awww poor baby is terrified. The beginning definitely sounds like coyotes. I’d only leave cause my babies are scared. I grew up with them everywhere. They do go after small animals, keep em close and just be vigilant.

Coyotes for sure. They are masters at vocalization. You think you are hearing about a dozen when in all likelihood it’s just a few. This is what they call their yip/call. My dog (GSD) could care less when they start yipping around us, but if I put a wolf call on for her she gets very interested.

💯% coyotes. As scary as they sound its worse when they're silent, that means they're actively hunting. It is odd to me, from where I'm from, to hear that during day light hours though.

Was this near crater lake? I was in crater lake last week and heard coyotes and then I went hiking in lava beds and heard them there as well. They are running rampant in that area 😅
