My friends said I would love Florence and hate Rome and it was the exact opposite! I found my soul in Rome ☺️I find I need to do certain things in Florence otherwise I feel like I’m a study abroad kid

I think a lot of people say Florence when they are thinking Tuscany. As a city Rome is way better than Florence but Tuscany is amazing

My mom lives in Lucca which is about an hour from Florence. I was there once (literally today) and I’ll never go back. I hated every bit of it. For context, we’re citizens. I grew up on Long Island NY but I’m here visiting my mom since she retired and moved back part time. Everything about that place I hated and couldn’t wait to leave

Florence is packed with art, culture and beauty everywhere… the problem is that’s a very small city (the old town) and becomes too dense with tourists in the summer. A must visit but outside peak season.

That's crazy because I think Rome is more packed and dirty lol Florence is my favorite city and I've been 4 times, but I went during shoulder and off season

Just came back and completely agree. It was so busy, even during shoulder season despite the comments saying otherwise. Florence was my least favourite of the cities we went to. Rome had our hearts.

What season did you go?? I can’t believe someone say they dislike Florence. Please go in May or October and avoid the touristi places. Its an incredible city.
