DIY made possible only due to the services of handyman 👦🏻 🤭 • going into reno planning, we had believed that having a glass rinser at home was a greaat 💡 idea BUT as soon as we moved in, reality easily placed us back into our place 🥹 maybe it was because we didn't research enough and didn't get a high quality glass rinser, but we do think it failed its one and only job as a glass rinser: 💫 because it was installed flat on our countertop, water would remain within the dish and we had to manually sweep the water out into our sink after every use 🤐 (gross but ok, we could live with it) 💫 also, we had a dishwasher so more often than not, because of the above reason, we ended up dumping all our cups and bottles into the dishwasher. the glass rinser was thus only used for cups that were not dishwasher-friendly 🌚 💫 finally, there was the issue of rust. this was the main reason why we decided to get rid of it 🥺 rust started appearing very soon after we moved in, and this was despite us not using it much 🥹 it became too much of a chore for us to remove the rust so frequently & besides being so unsightly, it didn't make sense to us to use a rusting glass rinser to rinse our cups anymore 🫠😅 but because a hole was already drilled into our countertop, we also couldn't just remove this glass rinser without covering it up - water would simply flow into our carpentry below through the gaping hole 😨 so after some reflections and research, we decided to get a soap dispenser from taobao to fill the gap (we paired it with our dishwashing liquid) and ✨ ta-da, we've got a new soap dispenser all thanks to handyman 👦🏻! 💗 final thoughts 💭: after ~9 months with this (new) soap dispenser, we would 100% make this decision all over again if we had to 💖 singapore homes | home renovation | renovation regrets | DIY | soap dispenser | glass rinser | renovation | hdb bto | home interior | renovation inspiration | reno inspo | renovation reflections #sghome #homerenovation #glassrinser #soapdispenser #diyproject
