@there_y0u_are: Replying to @crlnklssn you can have a sick, architectural-digest worthy home in a new building! think less about warming the space, and more about softening and bringing depth. contemporary interior design is COOL and i’m jealous! lean in!
love these examples, but you can totally do a warm colour palette in contemporary shapes! MCM and tropical modernist architecture is often LOADED with wood and warm tones, but the lines are sleeeeek

So grateful I have warm tone 1980’s parquet. I know lots of folks love to hate parquet but I like my warm tone floors

This is sooooooo helpful!!! Did I make a mistake ordering a dark brown couch before I saw this though? 😅

What if an apartment has real wood floors but plain white walls and some seemingly modern elements? Is it a hybrid? Thinking of still using what I think is in line with your softening approach — black vintage leather sofa, red Turkish rug, glass and chrome coffee table, gauzy white curtains and a wood desk or dresser

I am on an opposite journey lol. Trying to de-warm my very warm, terracota like floor. I want mid century/70s decor to fit the style of the house, but as much as I love this floor it give me headache, especially for chosing a rug

HELP! how would you play with a space like this? light grey floors and white walls (staged furniture not ours) i think your outlook is amazing!

Think I saw a sofa set up like the white one you feature in an issue of Milk. Not sure I like the littlepillows but the concept is appealing.

I love the idea of softening a space. It’s about texture, different tones of neutrals, and big bold art.
