Studies show that taking a child to see a loved one incarcerated is extremely bad for a child’s mental health. Look into it. Hopefully you’re not using the your child for an excuse to go see him. He lost his privileges when he got locked up. He can try to start a relationship with her when he gets out.

You're a great mom....and never let anyone tell you anything less. Speaking as a former child who had to be taken to visitation for an incarcerated parent....I can honestly say that your daughter will remember the visitations for the rest of her life. You're instilling meaningful memories. I don't know you personally but I want to say thank you for what you're doing.

She needs to see a dad in the home. The image of her seeing her dad incarcerated is not helpful. Have her write her day, much better for her and him. God bless you mom

My dzughter wzs 3 months old and in my arms when the feds came and took me. My son was 5 and a daddy's boy...and im very proud of my kids mother, she carried torch for me.
