I live in China - they really think that the shootings and the lack of safety and the homelessness and the drug epidemic and tent cities and the high medical bills are propaganda. And I’m like….. “no…….” And they’re like - “ummm but at least you all make so much money and live in huge houses and drive huge trucks!” And I’m like….. “that’s just in movies, most people live paycheck to paycheck with no savings…..” and they’re like “….. how is that possible?!” And we both feel like crying at the end of it

The Chinese government normally blocks their people from openly discussing with other countries. They were not prepared for that many foreigners on Red Note. The government noticed how the Chinese people were so horrified by how Americans lived, they didn't block the communication. They left it open.

RedNote doesn’t represent the real China. It’s a place for the well-to-do to show off how great life is. I read somewhere that there is control of RedNote to only show the good side. Remember if China is so wonderful, then why are so many illegally entering the US through South America? Why is the US Green Card still so coveted by the Chinese? Why do so many intentional students never go back to China and marry for the Green Card?

Actually!!! The ambulance one is crazy. In China there are 3 different numbers for emergency. You call 120 for a medical emergency. Ambulance cost is 200-500 RMB depending on the distance (which is $30-70). If you have insurance, it can be reimbursed. They’re always horrified when I tell them how much an ambulance costs in the US
