Alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs are all things people can want their partner to give up. Alcohol changes you as it does anyone and maybe he sees the way she acts when drinking and it’s not the same person he loves when she’s sober.

I think it depends! With the information given, yeah he’s not the person. But who knows, maybe he grew up around addiction and it’s hard for him to be around those things often? Addiction runs in my fiancés family and he is sober for that reason. I have never once questioned going sober for him too. I think I’ve had one drink in my life lol. We plan on having an alcohol free wedding as well as life for the most part. :)

I honestly agree with the boyfriend, except my experience is with cigarettes. I can’t stand the smell. My ex never had an addiction, but when he would smoke, it would gross me out and make him completely unattractive to me. I ended it when he wouldn’t stop. It’s just a standard.

if he had the boundary he didn't like drinking he should of communicated why and stuff BEFORE they started dating not while. before I started dating my now husband I said I didn't like cigarettes and wouldn't date someone who smoke them and he said he didn't like them etheir.
