Location: Wind Power Equipment Testing and Certification Center, Mingyang New Energy Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, #Baotou, #InnerMongolia Autonomous Region Over a turbine blade’s lifecycle—manufacturing, transport and operation—it endures around 3 mln oscillations. To simulate this, engineers put a sample blade through 4 mln horizontal swings and 2 mln vertical ones during a rigorous 7- to 8-month testing period. This is known as a fatigue test. Sensors on the blades capture every movement and transmit real-time data to the control center for analysis. While the tested blade itself won’t be used further, passing this rigorous endurance test means the type of blade is certified for use.
