And 9/10 times the children are willing to be forgiving but the parents NEVER want to be accountable

This needs to be a Facebook post. The ones who need to see this aren’t on this app.

my mom always give me "silent treatment", never apologise because she's thinking she's always right, don't get me wrong, i love her, but i don't like her. the only good things is that she's treating my youngest and older brother better better when i'm the black sheep. but it's okay, i love myself.

It’s not what they did when I was a child. It is what they continue to do now while I’m an adult and know better

Being a parent is a thankless job…and as it should be. Our children did not ask to be ushered into this unforgiving world and parents will stumble on the path of raising them, but that’s where accountability comes into play. A great parent does not seek awards for basic child rearing and will not claim their child’s success as their own but will celebrate their children as individuals. Effective parenting comes from a place of maturity and humility. Our children don’t owe us a god damn thing but we owe them the world. We asked for them (our behavior created their existence) - it is our responsibility to be grateful. And through this modeling, we teach them gratitude and one day, they will be great parents too.

Stop blaming the parents! Most of these people on the internet is not a QUALIFIED therapist! Grown children that don’t want to their parents has responsibility too! Communicate might help! But there’s two sizes to every store!

I made many mistakes as a mom. I healed later in life than I should have. But I’ve worked through therapy with my daughter, owned the mistakes, and fixed my behaviors that were hurtful. She is 20 now and we have an incredible relationship.

For all the religious parents: “Fathers, do not provoke your children unto wrath.” This is biblical too.

My mom told us every day of our childhood that she didn’t want us, shouldn’t have had us, and was done with us the minute we turn 18. She abused us. And any time we called she ignored us. I stopped trying about 8 years ago. I just turned 43. She sent a text that started with: “my sweet daughter…” I blocked her! I’m finally done and ready to live my own life.
