There’s no such thing as Wahabbism. Islam itself is a non-tolerant religion that’s how preservation works. Adhering to the text and scholarly interpretation is what keeps Islam unadulterated. Regardless of how the monarchs go about things politically it doesn’t matter if they don’t abide by Islamic text and scholarly interpretations. Saudi government in no means is perfect but when it does work in line with what the text says and how scholars interpret it then can they really be faulted? or does the same go for other Muslim countries that choose to do the same?

simple way to understand is to look at the creation of the Saudi kingdom, they allied with the british against the islamic caliphate, which is the central authority for all muslims worldwide. they betrayed the wider muslim world for small arab states and the control of the resources in the muslim world.
