මෛත්‍රී බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ බුදුබව ලබන ආකාරය බෞද්ධ සම්ප්‍රදාය අනුව මෛත්‍රී බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේ වර්තමානයේ තුසිත දෙව්ලොව වැඩ සිටින අතර, අනාගතයේ ගෞතම බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ ධර්මය ලෝකයෙන් අතුරුදන් වූ පසු මනුෂ්‍ය ලෝකයේ උපත ලබනු ඇත. උන්වහන්සේ අජිත කුමාරයා ලෙස ඉපදී සම්පත් සහිත ජීවිතයක් ගත කළද, ලෝකයේ අනිත්‍ය ස්වභාවය අවබෝධ කරගෙන ගිහිගෙය හැර පැවිදි වෙති. පැවිදි වූ පසු උන්වහන්සේ ගැඹුරු භාවනාවෙන් යුතුව පාරමිතා බලය පූර්ණ කරගෙන සම්මා සම්බුද්ධත්වය අවබෝධ කරගනිති. එසේ බුදුබව ලැබූ මෛත්‍රී බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ ලෝකයට නැවත ශ්‍රී සද්ධර්මය දේශනා කරමින් අසංඛ්‍ය ජනතාවක් නිවන් මඟට යොමු කරනු ඇත. බෞද්ධ විශ්වාසය අනුව උන්වහන්සේ අනාගතයේ පහළ වන ඊළඟ සම්මා සම්බුදු රජාණන් වහන්සේය. මෛත්‍රී බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ බුදුබව ලබන්නේ අසීමිත මෛත්‍රිය, කරුණාව සහ පාරමිතා සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමේ බලයෙන් වන අතර, උන්වහන්සේගේ බුද්ධත්වය ලෝකයට නැවත ධර්මාලෝකය උදා කරන මහා සිදුවීමක් ලෙස සැලකේ. How Maitreya Buddha Attains Enlightenment According to Buddhist tradition, the Bodhisatta Maitreya currently resides in the Tusita Heaven and will be born in the human world in the future after the teachings of Gautama Buddha have disappeared from the world. He will be born as Prince Ajita and will live a life of great wealth and prosperity. However, realizing the impermanent nature of worldly existence, he will renounce household life and become a monk. After entering the monastic life, he will engage in deep meditation and, through the power of the perfections (Pāramitās) he has cultivated over countless lives, attain Supreme Enlightenment (Sammā Sambuddhahood). Having attained Buddhahood, Maitreya Buddha will once again teach the Noble Dhamma to the world and guide countless beings on the path to Nibbāna. According to Buddhist belief, he will be the next Fully Enlightened Buddha to arise in the future. Maitreya Buddha attains Enlightenment through his boundless loving-kindness, compassion, and the completion of all spiritual perfections. His Buddhahood is regarded as a great event that will bring the light of the Dhamma back to the world.
