@charltonharley: Today is a proud day for our Rochester Navy team as Future Sailor Joshua Gause ships off to bootcamp! I first met Joshua back on May 8th during a classroom presentation at UPrep (University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men)—a school dedicated to helping young men grow into strong leaders through rigorous academics and mentorship. Honestly, if you had told me that day he’d be wearing Navy blue just a month later, I wouldn’t have believed you. Shows what I know! Joshua surprised us all with his quiet determination and soon joined our ranks as one of our outstanding SECFs (Submarine Electronics/Computer Field). SECF Sailors are some of the most technically skilled in the fleet, maintaining and operating some of the world’s most advanced systems aboard our submarines. He comes from a great family, has an incredible work ethic, and I have no doubt he will make an exceptional Sailor.
