@cbsmornings: Cracker Barrel says it’s scrapping its new logo and sticking with its old one following severe backlash. The 55-year-old company is reversing course just a week after planning to adopt the new logo. CBS News MoneyWatch correspondent Kelly O'Grady breaks down Cracker Barrel's decision. #crackerbarrel
What I don’t understand is why spend 700 million on a rebrand? I would have took that money and made the food better and took care of my employees.

Paying employees more cost companies more in the short term, which impacts share price. We from the outside often focus on things that can be done to run companies more efficiently. Internally, strategies are being executed for a host of reasons and not all of them are about growth and longevity

Fix the food. The last ceo lowered quality, portion sizes and raised prices. People didn’t dip because of the decor. They dipped for lack of flavor and value

Test and learn? If a clerk made a mistake he/she would be fired. We should next be reading about immediate termination of leadership

They had enough money to spend $700 million on a logo change but they can’t hire more kitchen Staff? And better food? Their priorities are way off.

🙄 If their customer base was enough they wouldn’t be changing the stores and logo. When they file for bankruptcy in 10 years after keeping the old logo. Y’all be like they should have reinvented themselves.

But that’s the thing, CB no longer had customers. Their core customer base is dead, literally, and the remaining “customers” are their kids and grandkids who largely admit to only going to CB maybe once or twice a year for the “memories.” Nobody else was going there.

The reason that their stores was not do well to begin with before they changed everything was that the food was going down hill. Bad cooks. Hard biscuits and cornbread. Raw chicken, the bacon hard or uncooked. If they would have checked that first it would have been better and nothing else could have been changed
