The Democratic party is over. We need a socialist workers party.

After 38 years as a registered democrat, I reregistered independent. California has open primaries. The DNC will never get another penny from me.

What are you people genuinely talking about not endorsing mamdani ? Like genuinely what’s your issue ? He has endorsements from Warren to AOC? Like what do you lefties lie? Like are you being paid by republicans?

The current Democratic party, at least at the federal level, is basically done. They can't seem to even muster a noticeable pearl clutching moment for the things Trump does.

I said this after trump but I think its more true now. which leftist got embed themselves into the republican party. bc ultimately the dems and reps are parties who ideals change with time. hell the republican in Lincolns day were the communist party. universal healthcare appeals to all voters and you could sell that to republicans you can have Lina khan be true anti corruption advocate

I think it’s not surprising that they are fighting against something that will eventually cost them their power. But that’s the thing, them fighting it at best only delays it. The change is inevitable at this point because young people overwhelmingly have different priorities. But to say the party is done is just naive. Even the current Democratic Party is better than any other legitimate option for governance (and no, 3rd parties are not viable without structural, legislative change to the American electoral system). Change is coming. It’s inevitable. But like everything in the US, it takes time

I remember learning in history class about the progressive party the Whigs, & how whether or not to abolish slavery demolished their popular support in a single election cycle. the progressives left the party, bolstered by a newly progressive stance for the Democratic-Republicans (support of abolishing slavery). history rhymes.

It’s not democrats, it’s not republicans. There are the people who have bought the government and the people who pay for it. Who bought this government? Who is paying for it?

Electoralism is not gonna win the whole game; it’s true. But if you cede that portion of the board to your enemies, you might as well secede from the game entirely, cuz you are absolutely going to lose. (see what I did there?)

all the establishment politicians hate our guts, and the quicker we all realize that, push for new faces in the spaces and organize outside of electoral politics, the sooner we’ll have the world we all actually want to see (robust social safety net, quality of life for the working class, no support for apartheid)
