They made the lights brighter and the music louder on purpose. It puts your brain in fight or flight, causing you to basically just grab and go to hurry out as quick as possible without checking your items/ budget/ how much you’re spending.

you can shop at Walmart during sensory friendly hours they turn off the music and depending on your Walmart they also dim the lights but mine doesn't

The Walmart where I live got rid of self checkout and I absolutely love it. I live in NJ near the Lincoln tunnel to nyc and the lines on weekends were horrendous. Because manhattan doesn’t have a Walmart.

I try and go way before 930 ... at certain stores around me about 10 the lights get brighter and the loud music starts
