2,3,4 years is too long for a child to be in foster care. The system needs to do better. I have been a foster parent for 10 years and I have seen parents come first too many times.

Completely true!! I had two for over two years. Already adopted a sibling . CPS sent kids back. They stayed one month then came back to me.

And also listen to the CHILD when they reach a certain age and say “NO MORE ABUSE!” And refuse to go back. We should NOT be forcing children to go back to their abusers.

AGREED HOW ABOUT AFTER 4 months the child we took care of went back to biology mom a month or so later he died the social worker did nothing to protect him no matter how much reporting was done

i agree with you! Alot of times if dcfs would do their jobs then bio parents would get kids back sooner!

Was a foster child for years. You’re 100% right. It got to a point I begged my mom to sign rights over because the state wasn’t.

They forget about the kids and what is best for them! I hold the same stance as you! I co-parent any i can! But that doesn’t mean they aren’t mine! I don’t take their bio-mom’s place. I make my own!

I was in the system twice and I totally get the trauma from learning different lifestyle’s then going back to bio parents and then back into a system, I agree 100% with you with everything you have said about the system!

Had to place due to DV. I got her back in 4 months. This was 3/2020- 7/2020 (yep; smack dab during all the closings during the beginning of Covid) nothing stood between me getting her back.

we have had our granddaughter 4 out 5 years out of home. Foster system kept passing her case around and giving parents more time that didn't try. got guardianship and mom frequent jail visits is in her favor 🙄 2026 *year 6 out of home * we can start adoption if mom still out of jail 🙄 entire system favors parents that don't try cause parents.

You are 100% correct. I am going through this right now. 5 1/2 years no contact then all of a sudden the courts give her unsupervised visits, now every other weekend visits. These kids are getting failed everyday by CPS!

Today, the agency reunited the baby we had for 7 months since birth while she was at a parent visit overnight so my kids and I didn’t get to say goodbye. We give our whole hearts to these babies. The agencies are buttheads.
