I really needed to hear that it’s not actually as competitive as it seems! I know you are clinical psychology, but do you have any specific advice or anything different you would suggest for getting into neuropsychology programs?

Could you go through the whole process of becoming a clinical psychologist? Like, from highschool classes or your bachelor all the way to getting licensed? I want to become a clinical psychologist but it is really overwhelming to me😅

the only thing i would add is (at least in illinois) people with counseling and school psych phds can sit for the licensing exam for clinical psychologists too!

I did have a question. Do I really need publications to be competitive? I’ve been a research assistant in one lab for 3 years and only presented once at a national conference last year. I’m in the middle of proposing an independent project that’s being reviewed by a subcommittee. The lab itself is VERY niche and specific to my research interests and the labs I’ll be applying to but I’m worried about the lack of tangible research experience like pubs and presentations.
