Couldn’t disagree more. Always max out all of your tax advantaged accounts. Roth IRA, 401k, HSA and mega backdoor contributions. Double and triple tax advantaged accounts are the key to financial freedom.

Super out of touch take. 7% annualized return already subtracts the average inflation rate. Most people don’t want to take risks to start a business. Roth IRA and 401k make it simple for people

First off, it’s 7k a year. Second off, returns have averaged double digits last few decades. Third off, inflation is 2-3% and there is a lot of arbitrage to take advantage of and pull out tax free once you retire. $7k a year is a small amount to invest each year. Put your other money in other investments

All your gains in a ROTH Ira are TAX FREE he forgot to mentioned that🤦🏻♂️it’s not a bad idea to invest in it but I do agree it’s bad idea to max it out for the same reason he mention here about investing in yourself outside of a retirement account. Also a 6%-10% annual return is if you just buy index funds in your Roth IRA, if you own individual stocks with high future growth potential your not averaging 6-10% you could be averaging 200%+

Bro what? What would ur alternative be lmao? It’s not like the rate of return changes based on the type of account. Ur asset allocation and market growth determine your portfolios return. Depending on your situation u can open different tax advantaged accounts.
