This seems like BS but I have an adopted son and I’ve done the same thing. When he was a teen I told him “I brought you into this world and I could take you out” He laughed so hard and I got angrier until he explained why he was laughing. I started laughing and fight was over.

My son at 15, was been adopted for a year at the time (lives with for a few years before adoption bc Fostercare). Once asked me, “mom when you gave birth to me…” looked at each other blankly, and both laughed cause he realized what he said. 🤣
