I almost fainted just watching the guy at work😅😅. If you want to get your engine washed, 1. ensure it's a STEAM WASH. Not just pressure washing. 2. The attendant should explain the process to you before he starts. If you hear them mention covering the computer system, and alternator, that's a person who knows their work. 3. Take it to a car wash you've seen work for someone before. Spend around 500 to 1000 bob and avoid buying a new computer.

My car’s engine was washed and it came out clean and OK. A few years down the line someone washed it and it could not start and when it did there was “check engine” signal, two sensors and the car computer had to be replaced. Lesson learned the hard way.

Never wash your engine. Our parents’ cars survived 20+ years without ever having their engines washed, even though they used to drive daily on dusty and muddy roads.
