@thechristianmichael: Sometimes life can be so hard and our suffering can feel so great that, in our humanity and immaturity, we are tempted to turn around and run back in the direction of ease and comfort, because walking in the direction of obedience and righteousness feels too rough, the road looks too long, and the reward of perseverance does not SEEM to be worth the suffering and sacrifice that it requires… … but the Bible tells us, in Romans 8:18, that, “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” ‭‭ … but in order to see the revealed glory, you have to be facing/moving in the right direction! If you stop now and turn back, you’re going to miss the reveal, but if you would only keep pressing forward, the stress of the journey, will feel like a distant memory once you see the glory! The enemy wants to convince you that there is less suffering in the direction that opposes God’s will for your life, but the truth of the matter is, whether we follow His path or lean to our own understanding, there will be suffering in some way, shape, or form. Whether the suffering happens in time or in eternity, in obedience or disobedience, there will be suffering. The difference in the sufferings is that, suffering in opposition to the will and way of God is hopeless, but suffering TOWARDS God and WITH God ends in a revelation of GLORY and a promise to REIGN!
