Magne does not overblot or have a blot phantom that's seperate from his body like normal mages do because the phantom is in him, they function as one. instead of the blot spilling out of his body like it does when someone overblots it's all held IN his body which is the issue and this is also the reason he has a lot of auditory and visual hallucinations later on down the line when he begins to get worse because blot affects the physical and mental state of the user after prolonged exposure. Magne cannot use magic and doesn't have a UM because using magic will accumulate more blot automatically which he can't afford, but also because the blot is constantly feeding off of his magic pool basically so he wouldn't have enough energy to cast anything useful. His medicine is supposed to keep that at bay (and suppress negative emotions to avoid feeding the blot) because if it sucks up all his magic then it'll start eating away at him instead. It's also a bit of a parallel to Idia's curse as well. Idia said that because his curse immediately burns through blot, he needs to keep producing it because if it had no more blot to feed off of it will feed on his magic instead. So yea idias curse feeds on his blot, Magne's feeds on his magic. When his body eventually cannot hold up anymore the phantom takes over his body, rather than him dying and the phantom just roaming around separately, it uses him as the vessel instead. The context of this video is basically what happened when styx's treatment wasn't helping anymore, and these were his last moments of humanity.
