I’ve been there with the emotions of divorce and I want to point out something my x and I decided to do. Divorce impacted our kids and we never wanted our kids to be pinned against one parent or the other. We and our acquaintances could never talk badly about the other parent. It’s easy to fall into being selfish and wanting to be spiteful but as a parent, the question to ask before saying or doing something negative to their father is, is this in the kids best interest. Mine was an alcoholic and to refrain from letting them know he’s a POS was difficult, but it’s always about them over me and my issues with him. Rightfully so, we will be upset, angry and want to burn all their things but the long term impact of burning his stuff may cause greater mental harm to our kids and it’s teaching them that it’s ok to do that to someone’s property because they dinked me over. Maybe consider teaching her a better way to handle such a situation, be even better than him while standing tall and give him his stuff and be done. I get where you’re coming from and it’s not easy after what he’s done but he’s proven he’s a POS and you can choose better so you’re not meeting him at his level. In our state, what we brought into the marriage is ours to keep and everything else we had to go through and split. I would have sued him if he destroyed my property. Much love to you in whatever you decide and things get better in time.

I understand and sympathize with your anger. That being said, if I may give a little advice. You don't have to help him in any way. At the same time being vengeful is only going to hurt you and attach you to him longer. Put a hold on his mail don't take it to him and don't keep it. It's not up to you to tell him how to get his mail. So long as storage unit is in your name he has no access to it. If you want take your things out. Then make sure storage hasn't got a way to get in touch with him. Then stop paying storage. It's not up to you to tell him. Let storage auction his stuff off. Hire a lawyer file for divorce and wash your hands of him. This way your. not going to get in any legal trouble. More than 1 way to skin a cat.
