Former okla teacher here (former becauseof how horrid the school systems are)--this story tracks. When I taught sped and reported to cps for possible abuse, the parents would just pull the kids out and "homeschool" them. Since Ok has virtually no homeschooling regulations, abusers can keep them locked away 😭.
