did you take the belt off and make sure nothing else is seized? nope. ive seen alternator and AC compressors now allow engines to start.

You have to do more before condemning it as being seized. A lot of things can lock up an engine including sieved pulleys. 150k on the Mercedes diesel is not a lot of miles.

the culprit is the new turbocharger, dirt comes in the oil gallery direct to crankshaft bearing and it seized
