I think they purposefully chose a bad hair style, just one of many costume/design choices to make viewers subtlety hate the whole wedding as the choices make the wedding seem off of just a bad idea. Like how belly doesn’t have anyone to do her hair how she wanted and is only wearing the prom sales dress whilst jere wore a custom suit, or laurel wearing black like a funeral not like a traditional mother of the bride vibe. Everything about the wedding was just wrong on purpose
