none of the holmes' kids were spared from childhood trauma. eurus, even though she's a psychopath, was locked up in an island all alone from such a young age. sherlock had to go through the murder of his only friend at the time, while still young, and it was so traumatic his pre-mature brain resorted to altering the entire memory altogether. mycroft had to be mature and adult-like at such a young age to take care of his siblings, and he had to do it all alone. if there's something the holmes' siblings share in common, it's that all three of them grew up and are still lonely.
