I’m proud of your for staying sober and for speaking out about it. Both my parents were, as you say, very uncomfortable with themselves, but neither one ever accepted that they had a problem. My dad claimed he just didn’t want to drink anymore after his umpteenth DUI, so he stayed sober until his death. My mom just kept drinking more and more until it turned her into a vegetable on life support. So I’m grateful for people like yourself who speak about getting sober and stare down the stigma around it until it disappears. Now you are much braver and stronger than you were. Thank you, and keep up the good work. 😘
