100% agree and I am very impressed! I am also VERY jealous of how large your classroom is… I think the actual square footage of classrooms… especially in K-1 can make as big of a difference as class size. I have been in classrooms where I’m able to set up systems and seating to help support classroom management and been rolling within 3 weeks and I’ve also been in such small classrooms I had to do small group on the floor because I didn’t have enough chairs/tables for the other students and parents literally could not fit at Meet the Teacher. (The next year my class list had an asterisk by it explaining only one grown up per student could come!) Students having enough personal work space, managing required lesson materials/workbooks and all the extra important developmental materials that come with Kinder (with limited to no storage/counters) is a whole different process if you don’t have a big enough room and it will lead to a more over stimulating environment - for everyone - 100% of the time. It doesn’t make how great your friends are doing any less impressive, but just adds some nuance from a veteran teacher who will happily take more friends for the big room!

Exactly! Classroom size does not equal management! One student can change the dynamic of the class no matter the size and one teacher can change the dynamic no matter the size!!

AMEN!!!!! I have 19 with 8-9 pretty severe behavior issues and I have very, very few issues with them! We’ve been in school for 15 days and they are drastically different than the first day. We are trained from day one and lay expectations. I’m tough, but they know just how much I love them with all that I am!!!

If y’all want advice/tips on classroom management just ask. It’s quite literally that simple. Trying to diminish the fact that her kinders are quiet and she has good management only because she has “like 13” kinders is wild. Just ask for help 🥰
