First, decades aren’t that long. Second, the story’s around Jesus were common knowledge at the time because of how impactful it was. Third, they only had to start writing it down because like I said before it was common knowledge but more and more people didn’t actually see it and were questioning the authenticity. Fourth, Jesus changed people’s lives. I know if I met him I would never forget him or his works.

I’m sorry, but this explanation is fundamentally untrue. I have had many many impactful conversations over the years. At best I can paraphrase the general concept of what was spoken about, but nowhere near close Word for Word details. Here’s a personal challenge, if you graduated high school, what did the valedictorian say during their speech? Not generally, what were they talking about? But what were their exact lines because people for centuries are going to depend on the word for word memory that you come up with. Again, you wouldn’t get even remotely close.

We should also raise that Alex makes a false analogy by firstly assuming that the apostles wouldn't remember what they were seeing because that's technically impossible according to the date time that these people existed in writing things down were a way of communication so memorization was an essential property back then that existed for everyone and because these are the apostles some of them have been to Hebrew school as a child which should tell you that they have a great memorization of the scriptures. Secondly Alex wants to question the trustworthiness of the apostles but will exclude how they all gave their life to Christ and so Christ has permission to use divine intervention on them We can even prove this because before the last supper fulfillment really commences He tells them all that the Holy Spirit will be a helper to them So even if they forget the Holy Spirit will remind them of what they need to do. thirdly to explain just how they would forget such a thing when even after Christ's resurrection many years pass by and we still see that they spread the gospel exactly the same as it was when christ was still on earth, so how?

they listened to those sermons probably hundreds of times over the course of 3 years, no duh they wouldve memorized most of it. and some poeples memories arent bad, I can remember word for word things that have happened over a decade ago.

I’m very confused. I thought the gospel writers weren’t disciples, at least not the first 11-12. And the first gospel was written at best 30 years after Jesus died. The first gospel, mark was copied from what Peter recalled of Jesus. Do you expect him to remember roughly 5017 words spoken by Jesus verbatim? Not to mention it was translated from Jesus’ Aramaic to Greek. No matter who I’m listening to, I’m not remembering anyone’s teachings of 5017 words and accurately recalling it ~30 years after said person died. And I very much doubt anyone would be able to do so
