Bro, I'm from Abiriba, the name of our king is "His Royal Highness Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu, he was born in the family of "Enachioken Abiriba" this family has ruled the kingdom for over 3000 years -when the seating king died, one among the family will replace him as a king- IT IS NOT DONE BY VOTE. Similarly, in our neighboring town like in Mkporo,Ohafia,Igbere,Arochukwu. even the Obi of Onicha in Anambara state, it is their family lineage that rules the kingdom. Igbos have a king but not one centralized king thst rule Igboland. On like in Yoruba land they too don't have one centralized Oba, they have many Oba in Yoruba land. Yes,in Anambara state there are few towns that didn't have a king before the Colonial masters came, these few villages choses their king by vote, but many like the examples above the descendants rules the kingdom.
