Uniqlo has been putting out tone def ads, remember the one they put out in Korea that poked fun at their war crimes a few years back? I think this ad and the Korean ad weren’t intentioned to be weird or harmful, but it’s weird that they don’t have people in their marketing that realize potential negative reactions or controversy

i think this is diff than the AE commercial bc that one is like explicitly pushing eugenics, and the ELF one uses a raging misogynist for theirs. i think this one is tame and not even THAT controversial when it comes to what we r doing here in america. i wonder if this commercial is to cater to the western audience a bit? like maybe western audiences watching in japan ? im not sure. but i still dont find this on the same level as the other 2 but im also not japanese so what do i know

i used to work there. they’ve been discriminating. i applied there with two applications with all the same information at the same time in multiple locations except one of them i openly declared i was trans and guess who got a call back… deadname did 🤦♂️

the actress being naked was definitely a way to catch attention, but i dont really understand the controversy for this cm. japan has always has ads that have tried to stand out from the other and i think this ad did a good job of selling the airyness of the product. maybe im just desensitized from the ragebait marketing here in the US
