Ok, Let's put it this way, Jesus was arrested for going against the Pharisees and their teachings to bring forth a new form of God's teachings. Barabbas was a man who stirred up trouble and a murderer, probably a Roman or someone outside the Jewish community. That being said, the political climate was that the Romans were occupying Galilee and Judea. Would you convict the man trying to change your beliefs or the guy who fighting the status quo of the time?
