@aljazeeraenglish: Algeria’s UN ambassador Amar Bendjama delivered an emotional address as he read a farewell letter by Palestinian journalist Mariam Abu Daqqa to her son Gaith. Mariam wrote the letter before she was killed along with four other journalists in an Israeli air strike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital. #news #Algeria

Algeria experienced multiple violent conflicts, but "Algeria deaths war" most commonly refers to the Algerian War of Independence from France (1954–1962), with conflicting estimates of 400,000 to over one million Algerian deaths. Another major event was the Algerian Civil War (1992–2002), or the "Black Decade," which resulted in an estimated 44,000 to 200,000 deaths. Earlier conflicts include the French conquest of Algeria (1830-1875), where 500,000 to one million Algerians died, and the Sétif massacre of 1945, which also led to significant deaths.

The United Nations itself has no police force or arresting authority, so it cannot arrest anyone, including Benjamin Netanyahu or any other world leader. Here’s why:
1. No enforcement power – The UN is mainly a political and diplomatic body. It can pass resolutions, condemn actions, and authorize sanctions or peacekeeping missions, but it does not have its own global police force.
2. International Criminal Court (ICC) – Arrests for war crimes or crimes against humanity typically fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC, not the UN. The ICC can issue arrest warrants, but it relies on member states to actually carry them out.
3. Israel’s relationship with the ICC – Israel is not a member of the ICC and disputes its authority. That means Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu, are unlikely to be arrested on Israeli soil. Only if Netanyahu traveled to a country that recognizes ICC jurisdiction and was willing to act could he theoretically be detained.
4. Politics and power – Even if international courts or UN bodies accuse a leader of crimes, enforcement depends heavily on geopolitics. For example, the U.S. (a UN Security Council permanent member) is a close ally of Israel and would likely veto or block UN enforcement attempts.

I pray for the people of Palestine, that they may find peace amidst the turmoil and suffering that has gripped their lives for so long. May the innocent lives lost be honored, and may their pain never be in vain. I pray for the families torn apart, for the children who have seen too much, and for the communities living in fear and uncertainty. May they find comfort and strength in their faith and in each other. I pray for justice, that it may be served to those who have suffered and that the cycle of violence may come to an end. May the world open its eyes and hearts to the plight of the Palestinian people, offering them solidarity and support in their time of need. I pray for wisdom for leaders and the international community, that they may seek peaceful resolutions and not perpetuate further suffering. Above all, I pray for a future where they can live in peace and dignity.
Free Gaza Free Palestine 🇵🇸 💔💯
