I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - resting your tongue on the upper palate is the normal, healthy posture for your tongue. But here’s the problem: you cannot over-tense the tongue or clamp it into place. I see so many people straining their neck, over-activating muscles - especially the skin muscle platysma - in an attempt to “hold” the tongue up. And what does that lead to? – More visible platysma bands – Deeper neck lines – Downward pull on the jawline – All the opposite of what you wanted Yes, your resting tongue position should be on the upper palate - but it needs to come with correct head and neck posture. Without that, you’re just building tension and compensation patterns. I respect the work of mewing, but I also see too many people doing it from the wrong head position - and ending up with more neck tightness and jaw strain.
