when i was a child. 7 to be exact I was choking on bacon rind it.got.stuck right at the back of my throat and everyone around me didn't.know I was choking so I put.my fingers right to.the back of my throat and pulled it out. I guess its not the ideal way as I guess you could push it further back but I was desperate and I actually saved.my own life.

I remember when I was younger, I swallowed a whole marshmallow and started choking on it. Ran around the house and couldn't find my parents and tried to drink some water to help. Eventually ran outside and my neighbor was gardening, knew instantly what was going on and saved me. Scariest experience ever. Learned to do the himaleich with a chair in case it ever happens again 😵💫

I’ve used the back of the chair method before and it worked but it was still scary and sobering to realise a hazard of living alone.

I ordered Greggs earlier this year and got their potato wedges. Put my food down in the kitchen, ate a couple wedges whilst I was plating the food and the dryness of the wedges got the food stuck in my throat. Couldn’t breathe. Shoved a wooden spoon handle down there and pushed it down. Terrifying experience tbh 😅

I have Achalasia, and getting food stuck was a constant issue pre operation. Once I nearly choked to death in front of my young daughter once, one of the scariest moments of my life.

My elderly dad did this Christmas day on beef my husband had to do the heimlich maneouvre over the table and it came up 😔 very scary and my biggest fear 😱

Choked when I was alone , larynx collapsed... the most terrifying time of my life but while in a&e I was told if it ever happens again to drink as much Coca Cola as possible and that a huge burp should dislodge the food

I fully choked on a quaver my mouth was so dry and I swolled mush and then I automatically breathed it in after a while I couldn’t breathe or cough or anything then I proceeded to wet my self 😭 all while my partner sleeping on the couch and I’m trying to signal to him I’m dying. I literally had to bang my own back onto the wall and well … I survived guys 😅🥲

I had a bit of steak stuck wasn’t choking but I forgot how to swallow for a minute , now it’s happened so often I’m coughing it back up with worry it will happen again is this normal just to forget how to swallow 😳
